I received a free copy of The Breakup Support Group by Cheyanne Young from Lola's Blog Tours in exchange for an honest review. You can check out my original review on Goodreads here. blurbAfter four years of first love bliss, Isla Rush just got dumped. Any hope she has of winning her ex-boyfriend back is shattered when the town rezones her neighborhood, forcing her to spend senior year at a wealthy high school in the next town over. With a broken heart consuming her soul, Isla can’t focus on anything in class. Hell, she can barely get out of bed each morning. Her new school has too many confusing hallways, unfriendly faces, and Emory Underwood—a ridiculously hot guy who dates a new girl almost every day. She can’t help but crush on him, even though she knows it’s wrong. When memories of her ex make her cry in second period, the school counselor sends Isla to a club that meets during lunch. The Breakup Support Group is a collection of broken-hearted misfits who are all trying to help each other heal. For the first time since her break up, Isla’s heart is on the mend now that she has the support group. Then Emory shows up, forced to atone for all the broken hearts he’s caused over the years. While hiding her massive crush, she helps him understand the seriousness of breaking a heart and he helps her get back on the dating scene. Part of her peer-prescribed therapy is to learn the art of dating around. Emory offers to be her fake date for the homecoming dance, and she’s happy to accept. He’s just a crush, after all—she can handle a night of playing pretend. When the date ends with a toe-curling kiss on her front porch, all of her well-placed boundaries come crumbling down. After months of therapy, the pieces of her heart are finally healed. And now she just handed it over to a guy who only knows how to break them. review➳ Not going to lie, I thought this book was going to suck. It just looked... cheesy to me, but still, something compelled me to pick it up. I'm glad I decided to give it a shot though, I enjoyed it a lot more than I thought I was going to! ➳ While Isla may not have always handled her breakup in the best possible ways, the story was relatable nonetheless. Young did a great job at depicting the cliches of what it feels like when a teenager experiences their first time at expericing heartbreak. ➳ I quite enjoyed the relationship between Emory and Isla as the chemistry shared between the two made them the perfectcouple in my eyes. I can't imagine them being with someone different. I'm honestly glad that Isla didn't end up with her ex-boyfriend, I wasn't the biggest fan of them, not going to lie. ➳ The idea of "The Break Up Support Group" being a club offered at Isla's school seemed stupid, to be honest, but Young did a nice job at keeping using it as a coping skill for Isla to help heal from her ex-boyfriend, which I thought was nice. Considering I am normally someone who reads very heavy novels, it was nice to take a little break with this light, fun, fluffy, but still heartbreaking at times, contemporary romance written by Cheyanne Young. I will be checking out more of her works down the road, that's for sure! title informationThe Breakup Support Group by Cheyanne Young Genre: Romance Age Category: Young Adult You can find The Breakup Support Group on Goodreads You can buy The Breakup Support Group here: - Amazon - Barnes & Noble about the authorCheyanne Young is a native Texan with a fear of cold weather and a coffee addiction that
